Every winter, the Exploratorium’s Science of Cocktails event presents the artistry of master mixologists shaken with the science behind the craft. Guest mixologists will join us from popular San Francisco bars to mix delicious cocktails, while guests participate in interactive science experiments about alcohol, inebriation, hangovers, cocktail creation, and more. Taking an in-depth, hands-on look at the physics, chemistry, and biology of cocktails, the event will engage you in an exploration of your favorite libations in ways you’ve never experienced before.

Science of Cocktails is the major fundraising event of The Exploratorium Lab; 100% of proceeds from ticket sales go directly to the Exploratorium's innovative educational programs for underserved communities.
General Admission ticket holders enjoy complimentary cocktails at ten bars, a gourmet food buffet, and special activities. In addition to what General Admission ticket holders receive, VIP ticket holders may enter the event 30 minutes early (at 7:00 p.m.) and are given access to our Top-Shelf VIP Lounge with top-shelf spirits, special molecular mixology demonstrations, a gift bag, and a few surprises. Space is limited.
